Secondary English Teacher - Commencing Term 2, 2025

Jubilee Christian College provides high quality P-12 On Campus and Distance Education programs to both Tableland students and students across Queensland.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Secondary English Teacher to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English lessons to secondary students, from a Biblical Worldview, both in a classroom and potentially via distance education. This position can be structured as part-time or full-time, with working hours negotiable to fit the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons to secondary students, following the Queensland curriculum guidelines.
  • Develop and implement creative teaching methods to engage distance education students effectively.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments and assessments.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that aligns with our Christian values.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support students’ learning and well-being.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
  • Experience teaching English at the secondary level, preferably in a distance education setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Queensland curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for Christian education and a commitment to nurturing students’ spiritual and moral development.
  • Ability to effectively use technology for remote teaching and communication.
  • Ideally, the candidate will possess knowledge of online learning platforms and will have experience in distance education, although this is not a pre-requisite

CLASSROOM IT SUPPORT OFFICER

PART TIME POSITION ON CAMPUS IN ATHERTON QLD

We are looking for a classroom IT Support Officer to join our growing team. The position is part-time (20hrs a week).

The IT Support Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless integration and effective utilisation of technology within the educational environment. This position provides technical assistance and support to teachers, students, and staff in classrooms and other learning spaces, fostering a technologically rich and engaging learning experience. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining classroom technology, and providing basic training and guidance.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.  
  • Patience and a positive attitude.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite & Microsoft platforms.
