EARLY YEARS PRIMARY TEACHER (P-3)
ON CAMPUS IN ATHERTON

Jubilee Christian College is seeking an Early Years Teacher (P-3) to join our supportive team here in beautiful Atherton, Far North Qld.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain an inspiring, well organised and stimulating learning environment.
  • Create a warm and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Be able to work as part of a dynamic team of educators.
  • Be flexible and creative.
  • Demonstrate familiarity and experience with the Australian Curriculum and be able to teach from a Biblical Worldview perspective, supporting the College ethos.
  • Possess a strong understanding of pedagogy – Years P-6.
  • Support a range of student abilities within an inclusive learning environment.
  • Integrate ICT within teaching and learning.
  • Be able to implement and develop innovative and relevant learning and assessment experiences.
  • Monitor student progress and provide relevant feedback as required.
  • Provide formal reports to parents and actively participate in parent/teacher/student conferences.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings.
  • Use appropriate behaviour management techniques.
  • Communicate with skill and warmth with students, parents and staff.
  • Participate and contribute to school camps and activities.
  • Attend and contribute to School functions and events when required.

Candidates will:

  • Have current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (or have the ability to acquire registration before commencement);
  • Be able to affirm and agree with the College’s Statement of Doctrines and Beliefs and Staff Code of Conduct.

Jubilee Christian College is an independent Christian School located in Atherton, Far North Queensland, about 80km inland from Cairns, on the beautiful Atherton Tablelands.

Our school is growing and we are looking for a number of innovative educators who can share their passion for learning and inspire our students.

We seek educators who can create an engaging learning environment in which students feel safe taking intellectual risks, feel comfortable seeking assistance, and will be encouraged to perform to the best of their ability whilst developing a love for learning. Ideally, the candidate will possess knowledge of online learning platforms and be proficient with the Australian Curriculum.

This position is based on-campus in Atherton, Far North Qld.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Qld College of Teachers registration (or permission to teach).
  • Demonstrated competency teaching in their relevant field in Secondary years.
  • Ability to write unit plans, weekly work and assessments aligning with QCAA existing and emerging syllabuses.
  • Demonstrated high-level communication skills with colleagues, parents and students.
  • Demonstrated high-level competency in communication utilising online technologies and platforms.
  • Demonstrated organisational, time-management, and record-keeping skills utilising existing tools and platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to identify with and support the Christian ethos of the College.
  • Applicants for ‘Lead Teacher’ are expected to have relevant experience as this is a position of responsibility. 

Selection Criteria

  1. Competency in teaching Secondary students in relevant subject area/s.
  2. High-level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work with students, parents, teachers, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  3. Skills and/or experience working with students who have additional needs and/or gifted and talented students.
  4. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

PRIMARY & SECONDARY TEACHERS CASUAL RELIEF POSITIONS

Jubilee Christian College provides high quality P-12 On Campus and Distance Education programs to both Tableland students and students across Queensland. 

We are seeking Relief Teachers who would like to join our college on a casual basis, at our campus in Atherton.

The primary duty of a Relief Teacher is to effectively deliver the provided curriculum material to the class and ensure the well-being and safety of students when the regular teacher is unavailable. This responsibility is carried out in alignment with the School’s mission, vision, values, and expectations. Relief Teachers are held accountable to and work under the guidance of the school Principal or their designated representative.
