Jubilee Christian College is an independent Christian School located in Atherton, Far North Queensland, about 80km inland from Cairns, on the beautiful Atherton Tablelands.
Our College is growing and we are looking for talented and experienced Secondary Teachers to fill a full-time position at our school. The successful candidate/s will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English lessons to secondary students, from a Biblical Worldview, both in a classroom and potentially via distance education.
For the right candidate, a relocation package will be offered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons to secondary students, following the Queensland curriculum guidelines.
- Develop and implement creative teaching methods to engage distance education students effectively.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments and assessments.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that aligns with our Christian values.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support students’ learning and well-being.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
- Experience teaching at the secondary level.
- Strong understanding of the Queensland curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for Christian education and a commitment to nurturing students’ spiritual and moral development.
- Ability to effectively use technology for remote teaching and communication.
- Ideally, the candidate will possess knowledge of online learning platforms and will have experience in distance education, although this is not a pre-requisite

An opportunity has become available for a passionate, experienced teacher to join our enthusiastic team. The successful applicant will have the capacity to plan, teach, and assess, in relation to the Australian Curriculum. The primary focus of this position is to assume the responsibility for distance education students, in secondary English, Maths or Science, and work from the school office in Atherton or your home office as determined by the Principal.
The successful applicant will have:

- Proven knowledge of child and adolescent development and learning
- Demonstrated understanding of and implementation of contemporary assessment strategies, timely feedback and a range of reporting strategies
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents, professionals and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in the design and implementation of direct and consultation-based intervention which is responsive to the individual needs of children and young people, their families, and other relevant stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an inter-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary team
- Previous experience in a distance education setting is highly desirable

We are seeking Relief Teachers who would like to join our college on a casual basis, at our campus in Atherton.
The primary duty of a Relief Teacher is to effectively deliver the provided curriculum material to the class and ensure the well-being and safety of students when the regular teacher is unavailable. This responsibility is carried out in alignment with the School’s mission, vision, values, and expectations. Relief Teachers are held accountable to and work under the guidance of the school Principal or their designated representative.
