Jubilee Christian College    -    Statement of Faith

God

We believe that there is but one God who is the Creator and Preserver of all things visible and invisible.

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, His Deity, His virgin birth, that He is the eternal Son of God, that He is the incarnation of God, for whom and by whom all things were created.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Trinity), who proceeds from the Father and the Son, is one of substance, majesty and glory with the Father and the Son.

Inspiration of the Holy Scriptures

We believe in the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures as contained in the Old and New Testaments, ‘the Bible’, as the revelation of the mind and the will of God.  On the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, we accept them in their original form as the Divine Word, which when Heaven and Earth shall have passed away, shall yet endure.

The Devil

We believe in the actual existence of the Devil who is the father of all evil and opposed to God, although ultimately subject to the purposes of God and destined to be confined forever in Hell.

Justification by Faith

We believe that through simply believing unto obedience in the atoning death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we receive the remission of our sins and the gift of eternal life; that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins.

The Church

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ composed of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, which finds its visible manifestation in the local community of believers and ministers through the co-operative exercise of God-given gifts by the entire membership.  Each local community of believers is competent under Christ as Head of the Church, to order its life without interference from any civil authority.

Sanctification

It is the glorious privilege of every believer in Christ to be made pure in heart and wholly sanctified through the operation of the Holy Spirit by the blood of Christ and the Word of God.

Gifts

It is the indwelling Spirit who bestows the Gifts of the Spirit and manifests the Fruit of the Spirit in the believer.

Ordinances

We believe that there are two ordinances instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ:  Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

The Second Coming of Christ

It is our glorious hope and earnest expectation that our Lord will soon return for His Church and having this hope we purify ourselves even as He is pure so that we may be ready to meet Him when He comes to gather His people to Himself.

The Punishment of the wicked

We believe in the punishment of the wicked that wilfully reject and despise the love of God manifested in the great sacrifice of His only Son upon the Cross for their salvation.

Sin

We believe that wilful and persistent disobedience of the literal moral injunctions in the Bible is sin and will lead to spiritual and moral corruption of the believer.

Welfare of Students

We believe that the spiritual, physical and moral welfare of students of the College is important and that the adherence to the doctrinal basis is the fundamental foundation of protecting the welfare of students.

Creation

We believe that the heavens and earth and all original life-forms, including human beings, were made by the specific immediate creative acts of God as described in the account of origins presented in Genesis, and that all biological changes which have occurred since creation are limited to variation within each species.
